Born in San Francisco, I have been practicing medicine in Stockton since 1986. I practiced Pulmonary and Critical Care medicine for many years and started practicing sleep medicine in 2001 and became board certified in 2003 and recertified in 2011. I enjoy helping my patients to achieve a good quality of sleep. There is an ever growing appreciation of the harmful effects of sleep apnea on common diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, strokes and memory loss. My satisfaction comes from seeing the appreciation of my patients as they are so happy to be feeling good and able to enjoy their lives to the fullest.
I grew up and was raised in Agra, India, home of the Taj Majal. I came to the USA in 1986 and to California in 1991 to practice medicine. I began sleep medicine in 2001 and became board certified in 2003. I am very excited to be able to help my patients with improving their sleep which in turn helps them enjoy their days. I look forward to meeting my patients and learning about their lifestyle in order to understand how best to treat them. I especially enjoy treating patients with sleep apnea.
I came to the USA from India in 2002 to continue my studies in medicine. After my fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical care medicine in Texas, I came to California in 2008 to practice Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. In a couple of years, I discovered sleep medicine and wanted to learn more. I studied and became certified in sleep medicine in 2011. I enjoy the challenges of diagnosing and treating my patients and enabling them to improve their lives. I especially enjoy working with patients with complex sleep problems.
I am originally from Orange County. I currently live in the San Diego area. I have been coming to Stockton since Sept 2016 to see patients a few times a month. I finished my Sleep training at Stanford in 2014 after completing residency in Psychiatry at Georgetown and became board certified. I especially enjoy treating patients with insomnia, however, I like working with all types of sleep disorders. It gives me great pleasure to help my patients succeed in making their lives better and happier with a high quality of sleep.
Dr. Patel founded Pacific Sleep Disorders Center in 1987. He was the first physician in the San Joaquin valley to practice sleep medicine as a specialty. He realized the need of this medical field in our area and knew it would benefit the people in our community. He became board certified in Sleep Medicine in 1997. He remains very active in the administration of our office and is a mentor and a great inspiration to all of us at Pacific Sleep Disorders Center.
I grew up in Southern California and moved to the Central Valley in 2012. I worked as a hospitalist for many years and transitioned to Sleep Medicine a few years back. I completed my Sleep Medicine training at Stanford University. One of my greatest joys is helping patients achieve good quality sleep, an important, but often neglected part of one's health. One of my mentors from fellowship said, "Your life is a reflection of how you sleep, and how you sleep is a reflection of your life." My goal is to help my patients achieve the most restful, rejuvenating sleep so that they can live their best lives. I look forward to seeing you in the clinic!
I grew up in central valley California. I graduated as a nurse practitioner in 2020 from Regis University of Massachusetts. I really enjoy treating patients with sleep apnea and help my patients achieve a better quality of life. My goal is to educate patients about benefits of treating sleep apnea which could improve sleep, mood, and energy.
